Norwood pioneered the concept of international sponsored sporting events in 1992, which has since been adopted by many other charities. Norwood Challenges have organised sponsored cycle events all over the world and thousands of people have taken part in a Norwood Challenge.
Aside from the years of experience we have organising events like this; Norwood’s Challenges are extra special as you will have an opportunity to meet users of the services that Norwood provide who also participate in the Challenges.
We provide our participants with support every step of the way through from fundraising ideas, training tips to newsletters with information about the Challenge. If cycling is your thing, we also have an exclusive Norwood Cycle Club which offers it’s members and any participants on international rides a chance to train with other cyclists in the form of a monthly 30mile cycle ride. Please email
for more information.
The purpose of our Challenges are to raise money for charity and that is why we work so hard to make these events enjoyable. We actively encourage every participant to raise as much money as they possibly can to benefit Norwood’s service users. There is a minimum required sponsorship that is different for each event and this is the amount you will have to raise in order to participate in your chosen Challenge.
We recommend you start training and fundraising as soon as you sign up.
Loads of great fundraising ideas are contained within the fundraising section of our website. Justgiving is a fantastic online fundraising tool which can really make a difference to your sponsorship total, so make sure you set up your own web page. If you are unable to achieve the minimum requirement, you may choose to make up the balance yourself or forfeit your place.
We do not advise that you send cash through the post. Cheques should be made payable to ‘Norwood’ and sent to: Norwood Challenges, Broadway House, 80 – 82 The Broadway, Stanmore, Middlesex, HA7 4HB. If you do send a cheque to cover cash that you have been given, please include a list of everyone who gave you the cash with their full contact details so that we can claim Gift Aid if applicable and send them a thank you note.
