Lawrence Black has multiple learning disabilities and for many years was confined to a long-stay hospital. His life was transformed when he moved to Ravenswood village where he was encouraged to fulfil his true potential.
After years of inactivity, Lawrence was given the support he needed to take part in sporting activities and now he has an energetic lifestyle.
He has since participated in many of Norwood's Challenges all over the World, cycling hundreds of miles and raising money for Norwood, the charity that changed his life.
After participating in the 2008 Israel Bike Ride, Lawrence said;
“The bike ride was very good. I did very well. It was lovely to see all my friends. I hope to go next year. I am training very hard.”
The money you raise makes a profound difference to Lawrence and service users like him, supporting them in developing socially, intellectually and physically.
